Happy New Year from JobsInCT.com!
New Years Resolutions to Attract Job Seekers
Job seekers aren’t the only ones with new year's resolutions. January is a great time to reevaluate your processes and see what small changes could make a big difference in the coming year. Here are some tips we get from job seekers who wish the hiring process went more smoothly for them. Remember: with the job market getting tighter for employers, it may take more wooing to get the best candidates to work for your company...and sometimes it's the little things that make a difference.
1. Make sure you know what you want before you post a job. Sounds obvious, but how many times have you posted a job, brought in candidates, and then decided to rework the job description and start over? We hear from job seekers all the time about how they take time off of work and devote a lot of time and effort into applying for positions that in the end are not even filled. Respect the candidates you’re bringing in and save your own time by making sure that you and the internal staff you’re working with know exactly what you want for the position before you post it. New Text Editor and Spellcheck!
For those of you haven’t posted jobs on JobsInCT.com yet this month, you’re in for a surprise when you log in. The web developers here at JobsInCT.com have been hard at work this winter making improvements that will make your job easier. The biggest change is a new text editor that makes it easy for you to format your job posting without needing to know HTML. Previously, in order to add bullets, bolding, or any other special formatting, you needed to add HTML code into the text box. Now, just use the convenient toolbar buttons to create a snazzy job posting in minutes. The new upgrade also includes spell check, so no more worrying about misspelled words.

We’d love to hear what you think of our new upgrades. Just respond to this newsletter and let us know your thoughts.
