The Shift Supervisor is Responsible for the operation of assigned residential areas and for the supervision, counseling and guidance of students assigned within
Maintains order and discipline in assigned residential areas while encouraging the development of self-discipline and an awareness of othersInsures orderly, safe, clean and healthy living conditions by scheduling and supervising cleanup and repair assignmentsReviews student social training achievement records for currency and accuracyMaintains communication with the students, counselors, instructors and other staff membersProvides supervision for the cafeterias, laundries, special activities (both on and off center) and other program areas as assignedParticipates in the disciplinary process as established at the center, including zero tolerance for violence and drugsSupports other center programs including recreation/avocation, behavior management, counseling, student government, etcFacilitates the maintenance of folders containing information, forms. etc., for each student in assigned dormitoryOversees dormitory meetings for planning required activities and encourages leadership development
Minimum: Associate of Arts Degree. One year’s experience in dormitory management or work-related field.
Preferred: Ability to obtain a State driver’s license. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Knowledge of counseling techniques. Ability to relate to disadvantaged youth. Must obtain and maintain CPR/FA certification
Knowledge Required: Thorough knowledge of a variety of recreation/non-vocational activities. Thorough knowledge of a variety of recreation/non-vocational activities. Ability to obtain lifeguard certification as required. Must obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid certification. Ability to relate effectively with trainee population. Ability to inspire and motivate trainees.
